How RFM segments are counted?

Q: RFM segmentation page. I take segment R3-F2. I look at the customer, there is one order for 123 Euro. If I go to the customer’s profile, it has 26 orders for 48 200 Euro I assume it should be in segment R3-F5?

Answer: The customer does have 26 orders.

But RFM-segmentation means that we are only looking at orders for a specific period. Usually users consider a period = 1 year. In most retail businesses, a customer who hasn't ordered for more than a year is no longer a customer. This customer has only 1 order in the last year. That's why he's in the R3-F2 segment.
